European Escorted Bus Tours

I travelled to Europe with my then-14-year-old daughter a few years ago. I didn't want to worry about figuring out where we were going, so I booked an escorted European bus tour. Allowing a bus driver to worry about traffic while we sat back in comfort and listened to the tour guide explain the country side and tell us what to expect at our next destination created a stress-free holiday for us to enjoy.

Some people enjoy escorted bus tours because they relieve them of the hassles of complicated train schedules in foreign languages or spending a lot of time behind the wheel; they handle all the details of booking hotel rooms, selecting restaurants, and deciding where to go and how long to stay. They walk you through or bus you past each attraction, each with its own monologue about its history and significance.

Knowing your costs ahead of time and avoiding surprises is a plus. Mersin Escort tours get you to the most sights in the least amount of time and with the least amount of hassle. Escorted bus tours typically ride comfortably and unimaginatively in the deepest ruts of the beaten path, eschewing anything novel and treating the majority of Europe as a living postcard to be viewed through the tinted windows of a climate controlled bus.

This mother/daughter vacation through Spain and Portugal was a one-of-a-kind bonding experience. We learned how to deal with a hectic travel and touring schedule. Every morning began at 7 a.m. with breakfast, followed by bus departures at 8 a.m. Our days would usually end around 7 p.m., with a new overnight stay at a different hotel. The fact that we were sleeping in a different city and hotel room added to the adventure. Each hotel was as unique as the city and its inhabitants. Due to the extensive amount of ground covered, our itinerary included 3500 miles of travel between Spain and Portugal over the course of 17 days.

Our bus companions included 38 people from California, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. It was a one-of-a-kind group of people. We all respected one another and made sure to keep an eye out for one another when people strayed from the group. Everyone made it a point to arrive on time at each stop in order to see as many sites as possible.

Our tour guide was very energetic and informative about the next places we were going to see.

She gave us an overview of what we could expect. Once we arrived at each destination, we were escorted by a local tour guide who educated us on the history of the city in which we were at the time. Each tour guide from the respective city visited delivered a passion for their city, making the site seeing all the more enjoyable given that we visited these countries in the latter part of August, when the weather was extremely hot and humid.

Our European bus trip included stops in Madrid, Toledo, Avila, Seville, Barcelona, Cordoba, Granada, Lisbon, Sintra, and Obidos. We would not have seen as much if we had gone on our own, based on the amount of ground we covered. My daughter and I will remember the lifetime memories and friends we made on that trip for the rest of our lives.
